Approach to Care | Biography

Rhythm is central to all of life.   It is when we are out of rhythm with the natural world around us that we feel tired, sick, not quite right – we develop symptoms and diseases.  Nature is full of rhythms with which we can align ourselves, but in modern society it is difficult to find our way back to our own, internal, natural rhythms.  My goal as your doctor is to gently guide you as you achieve the homeostasis your body is craving.

During my undergraduate program at Smith College (’98), I examined women’s medical issues through the lens of my Women’s Studies major.  While I felt at the time that I was called to medicine, I craved something more holistic than conventional medical training.  I completed an advanced botanical medicine internship with mentors Gail Ulrich, Rosemary Gladstar, and David Hoffman.  It was during my internship that I discovered naturopathic medicine.  After my own recovery from chronic illness through work with my ND, I realized that I was called to become a naturopathic physician.  It is the medicine I use for my child, and for myself.  Through my own experience and those of my patients, I have ultimate faith in the healing power of nature.  You can experience a higher level of wellness through naturopathic care.

In my practice, I use simple natural therapies to guide your body and mind toward wholeness and rhythm on every level.  I listen to your concerns and discuss my unique understanding of your health.  I combine homeopathics, herbs, nutrition, flower essences, daily home practices, movement, and craniosacral therapy to guide you to optimal wellness.   You and I devise a treatment approach that fits your life and nourishes you long-term. Imagine your body in tune, in rhythm, perhaps for the first time in your life.  The wisdom of your body is there, underneath the hustle and bustle of everyday life. You deserve balance and rhythm in your life.  It is truly the best investment you can make.
